and NaCSA-MFP Distance Learning in
Micro finance
The
Njala University in partnership with
the Micro-Finance Programme (MFP)-NaCSA
is pleased to announce a new distance-learning
course
Foundation Course in Microfinance
This course will be run as a graduate
level certificate course, through
the School of Social Sciences Njala
University. The course affords professionals
the opportunity to balance the demands
of their jobs with the need to expand
there knowledge base in the area of
microfinance. It can also be complimentary
to student academic pursuits in the
areas of economics, finance, business
and international development and
banking. This foundation course presents
a comprehensive introduction to sustainable
microfinance, affording participants
the opportunity to gain thorough grounding
in the basic principles and practices.
Course Design:
The course will be based on the United
Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF)
designed Microfinance Distance Learning
course .The course which is structured
into 11 lessons contained in the training
manual and CD -ROM computer based
instruction (CBI) will be accompanied
by online interaction with a group
of expert tutors. A discussion forum
will be established for participant
interaction.

Barlay, Alphonso Campbell, Craig Feinberg
and Richard Pearce.
Schedule: Course starts Mid June
2006 and ends late September 2006

Cost: Tuition fees are Le900, 000
(Nine Hundred Thousand Leones) approximately
US $ 300.
Who Should Participate: This course
is suitable for microfinance practitioners,
donors graduate and undergraduate
students as well as individuals who
have a general interest in microfinance.
Practitioners and donors
Credit: The course will contribute
2 credit hours to Njala University
graduate level programmes.
Certification: Graduates will receive
certificates from Njala University.
Scholarships: Partial scholarships
are available for the NaCSA Micro-Finance
Programme Partner Institutions.
